Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water supplies, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and enforcing penalties," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen rockets attacked energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The attacks come after nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

Officials stated energy workers and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
